#2388  Corset   c. 1895-1900

Materials:
White cotton coutil, broderie anglaise lace, white embroidery floss, steel busk and eyelets, baleen or steel stays, cotton laces with embossed metal tips.

Condition: Excellent.  Nearly perfect; very faint beige tint to front of corset and one small mend to cotton over busk.

Measurements:  B, 28"; W, 23"; H, 30"; Front L, 13". These measurements are taken with the center back edges together; easily can add 2-4 inches to each for more open back lacing.

Comments: This is a typical straight front corset which would have been worn at the turn of the 20th century. Back laces have ornate embossed metal tips. The hand stitching around the cups and the deep flounce of beautifully embroidered lace are the only embellishments to this cotton corset.
