Materials: Striped cotton gauze, cotton net, purple and black silk ribbon.

Provenance: These undersleeves trace back to a descendant of Rebecca Kingsbury Gay (b. 1713, d. 1807) of West Dedham, MA. 

Condition: Excellent; no holes or stains, a bow missing on one cuff.

Measurements: W, 14"; L, 14.5".

Comments: Encased in a net channel, three lengths of ribbon extend up each undersleeve and end in a bow.  The cuffs tie at the wrist on these delightful mid 1850s undersleeves. The dress shown in the photograph is for sale as item #2086.
