Comments: A dramatic and beautiful Parisian evening gown from the end of the Belle Epoch. This one piece, princess line gown is fashionably high waisted with an evening train. Original baleen (whale-bone) stays give this gown it's fluid, fitted lines. The entire gown is covered in tiny hand applied black sequins. Its hand-done Art Nouveau inspired sequin and bead decoration is a masterpiece of early 20th century French couture craftsmanship. Each flower has a beaded center while its petals are built up in layers resulting in a dazzling three dimensional effect. Several important American museums have in their permanent collection gowns made by Mme Giguet. This gown is  worthy of inclusion in such a collection.
